“Totika” https://www.chasnz.org/totika project recognises that there was no common standard for construction health and safety pre-qualification in New Zealand. The current way things are done with numerous pre-qualification schemes creates significant inefficiency in the supply chain as contractors/suppliers have to repeatedly pre-qualify against different schemes, providing information in different formats against different standards. The end result with the way that things are currently done is a continual drain on resources, wasted time and money for both contractors/suppliers and clients.
From March next year CHASANZ intention is that existing prequalifications will be assessed and audited to assess suitability and compliance. Then the approved prequalification’s will be then assigned against the 3 different risk profiles (High/Medium/Low) and contractors will only have to select and complete one prequalification in their industry risk category in order to be prequalified. Once this is done then clients can go to the site and view contractors that are compliant and choose with confidence. The diagram below illustrates the pathway for registration.
