Stack Testing

Stack Emission Testing

We help industries and organizations measure and manage the particulates, gases and pollutants they release into the environment because of their processes. We call this “stack emissions,” which refers to the gases that are released from chimneys, exhausts, or other sources. Our main goal is to make sure that these emissions are within the limits set by environmental regulations. We do this by conducting tests and measurements to accurately determine the types and amounts of pollutants being released which is often required for resource consent purposes. One of the techniques we use is called “isokinetic sampling,” which involves taking representative samples of the gases being emitted. This helps us get a clear picture of what’s in the emissions, including things like dust particles, chemicals, and gases.

Why is stack testing required

  • To determine the quality and quantity of air pollutants emitted by the source
  • To measure the effectiveness of pollutants controller equipment before and after installation
  • To measure the effectiveness of pollutants controller equipment for a given condition
  •  To compare results with emission standards or as part of resource consent requirements
  • To compare changes in emission with the changes in processes or raw materials

Our capabilities include:

  • Total Particulate
  • Condensable Particulate
  • Combustion Gas Analysis including Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, and Nitrogen Oxide
  • Metal particulate and fume Emission
  • Sulphur Dioxide
  • PM10 & PM2.5
  • Other specialty analysis

Resource Consent Testing

Resource consent for emissions is like getting permission from the government to release gases or pollutants into the air. It’s important you make sure that these emissions don’t harm the environment or people’s health. This can be a daunting process, but we are here to help you understand and meet the rules and standards set by the government to keep your emissions in check.

How We can Help

  1. Our team knows all about the rules and regulations for emissions compliance. We stay up to date with the latest requirements, so we can guide you through the process and make sure you’re doing things right.
  2. Every business is different, and emissions can vary too. We create customized strategies that fit your specific emissions sources and needs. Our experts will analyse your emissions, identify areas for improvement, and help you come up with a plan to meet the regulations.
  3. Applying for resource consent can be confusing. We’re here to make it easier for you. We’ll help you gather the necessary documents and information, such as emissions data, assessments, and plans. Our goal is to create a complete application that shows you’re serious about emissions compliance.
  4. Once you have your resource consent, we can continue to assist you. We’ll help you set up monitoring systems to keep track of your emissions. We’ll also prepare accurate reports that show you’re complying with the rules and regulations.
