Dr Sage Robinson, Owner, Principal Occupational Hygienist at Safe and Sound Solutions

    Sage transitioned from a chemistry research background into Health and Safety, initially specialising in chemical safety and regulation for technology start-ups. Since joining Safe and Sound Solutions in 2020, he has been instrumental in supporting our safety team and establishing our dedicated Occupational Hygiene division. Sage holds a Level 8 Graduate Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety and multiple advanced certifications in Occupational Hygiene.

    Sage combines high-level scientific rigour with practical application. As a professional member of NZISM, NZOHS, and AIOH, he is committed to ensuring that technical health data is translated into clear, actionable protection for every client.

Leon Pretorius, Senior Safety Consultant at Safe and Sound Solutions

    Leon is the Senior Occupational Hygienist and Team Lead for the Occupational Hygiene Division at Safe and Sound Solutions. He is responsible for ensuring the quality and success of all occupational hygiene projects, while supporting and developing a team of specialists to perform at their best. Leon plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence across the team.

    Leon is a Registered Occupational Hygienist with the Southern African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH), affiliated with the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA), and a professional member of both the New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (MNZOHS) and the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene (MAIOH). He is committed to delivering high-quality, practical solutions that protect worker health and support strong, compliant workplaces.

Mark Taylor, Senior Safety Consultant at Safe and Sound Solutions

    Mark’s Health and Safety career began in the UK in 2007, working across the construction, rail, and facilities maintenance sectors. Since returning to New Zealand in 2011, he has spent over a decade as a H&S professional in Canterbury. In addition to his deep construction experience, Mark is an expert in early intervention injury management, fatigue management, and drug and alcohol awareness.

    Mark believes that health, safety, and wellbeing are most effective when they become "business as usual." He enjoys the challenge of stripping away complexity and finding the simplest ways to incorporate safety fundamentals into a client's daily operations.

    Brittany’s career is driven by the potential to influence safety decisions that lead to better outcomes for both businesses and individuals. She holds a Level 6 NZ Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety and is a HASANZ-registered professional. Since joining the team, she has applied her expertise across diverse industries, helping clients navigate real-world safety challenges with confidence.

    For Brittany, safety is about more than just compliance—it's a mindset. She finds great satisfaction in working closely with people to develop simple, practical solutions that ensure every worker returns home safely at the end of the day.

Briar Topp, Business Development Manager at Safe and Sound Solutions

  • As the Business Development Executive for the Horizon HSE Group (Exposure Science Consulting & Safe and Sound Solutions Ltd), I focus on finding growth opportunities and making it happen! In addition, I have a particular love for creating a work environment that has a real focus on culture and wellbeing. I have a master's degree in politics, philosophy, and economics with a focus on sustainability, and I speak Mandarin to a professional level. 

    You’ll usually find me with our two young children out walking in a forest or a beach, or else visiting friends who are much better at baking than I am. On my commute I love listening to health and wellbeing podcasts and in my down time I love watching food travel videos and occasionally getting inspired to try some (usually spicy) culinary adventures in our own kitchen.
