The ACC WSMP audit process has come to an end and the current certifications will expire within the next 2 years (eg 2 years from the date of your last audit). The replacement for WSMP is known as “Safety Star Rating Initiative” and a pilot is being run until June 2018. Safety Star rating is less documentation based and leans more towards behaviour management, continual improvement and management of risk. The pilot will play a major part in the decision by Ministers of Workplace Relations and Safety and ACC about whether to implement the Safety Star Rating initiative and in what shape or form.
