Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2016

These regulations largely came into force late 2017 now require that every workplace maintains a register of hazardous substances. The easiest and most effective method is to use the WorkSafe NZ hazardous substance on line calculator. You will require the chemicals HSR number which can be obtained from the SDS (Safety Data Sheet). This not only creates your register but also outlines the control measures that you are expected to have in place e.g. signage, segregation, training
